This is one of my favorite pictures taken while we were on vacation. We were at Uncle Rodney's cabin hanging out with family.
Hayden had fun banging on the keys. He really likes music of all kinds. Grams is very musically talented and sings in the choir at church as well as plays piano.

Saturday we ate at Shuler's BBQ in the small town where most of Matt's extended family lives. Uncle Bill played the piano and sang some songs and then we said bye to Matt's cousin Joey and his girlfriend who were heading back to Michigan. It's a good thing I wasn't on a diet; aside from Shuler's buffet, we had Mema's homemade fried chicken, her homemade mac n cheese and peach cobbler, Aunt Trudy's blueberry dessert, Gram's brownies and lots of other good southern foods, plus a late night trip to Krispy Kreme!
We had a great time in South Carolina but we are so glad to be back home! We stayed three days at the beach and unfortunately, Hayden didn't make it to the beach but he had lots of fun with everyone and we got some great pics. Hayden did pretty well being off schedule. The first couple of nights were hard but then he started sleeping ten hours, with the exception of the last night when he didn't want to sleep AT ALL! We still have no idea what was up with that. It made travel day longer but we survived. Our plane was late so we didn't land in Boise until 11:21 and it took an hour to get our bags and get on the road. After a 45 minute ride home, Hayden got to bed around 1:10 and I finally made it there at 1:30 am. Poor MAtt had to be to work by 7:00, but Hayden slept in until 7:40 and we took a nice two hour nap this morning. He is taking his afternoon nap right now so it seems everything is back on schedule.

Hayden was a little leery of all the people in the beginning but he wasted no time turing on the famous Hayden charm.
Hayden is so close to crawling! We really thought it was going to happen last week but he just can't quite get everything together. We used Maddy as incentive, which she tolerated but we eventually left her in peace.

We are heading to Myrtle Beach, SC Carolina for a vacation with Matt's family. We are finally ready to go. I actually thought we were doing pretty good until I was ready to go to bed and remembered all the little things I needed to do. You know, all those last minute things that take longer than all the big, standard things. My endless list making didn't make things happen any faster, but I dare say I am totally prepared to fly across the country to go on a beach vacation for a week with my 7 month old.
We even got to play some ping pong tonight. Matt bought a ping pong table the other night and this was our first time playing together. Matt won both times, but I didn't do too bad.
For other big news..I am now officially a Pampered Chef consultant! My director came over tonight and we got everything going and she gave me toms of cool stuff. I can't wait to get going as soon as I get back.
Bigger news...my Cousin's wife had her baby yesterday! A little girl, and I hear they are both fine. As soon as I get pics and find out how much info I may give out, I will be sure to share!
My sister, Beth is due to have her little girl October 19. I am so excited! I Will be an Aunt for the first time and, thanks to my grandmother's generosity, I will be able to fly home for the baby shower in September.
That is all for me now, I need to join my snoozing husband in bed. I have to get up in 5.5 hours!
Yesterday after the pool we went to a friend's house to celebrate and grill out with friends. We had some good food and the boys played with the Wii. Later, Josh gave Hayden a lesson on the Ukulele.
We took Hayden to the community pool here in town yesterday. It was his first time to the pool and although he seemed to like it there wasn't much splashing or laughing- he was mostly taking it in. He hung out with Daddy for a few minutes in the big pool and then went with me to the baby pool where he could sit up by himself in the water, with me close by.
Within a few minutes of getting to the pool, Matt got put in "time out" for doing a flip off the diving board.
This week has been kind of boring. Matt's been spending lots of time at the range practicing for his tournament this weekend and I have been working to get my runs in. My high school coach from back home has me on a pretty tight training schedule. Today I ran the longest distance I have ever run before: 12 miles! Since Matt needed to leave by 8:30 to be at the golf course I got up at 5:30, was out the door by 5:45 and was back home about 8:10. It took me 2:13:21 to run the twelve miles. I felt surprisingly good afterwards.
Today was the first day of the Mountain Home open and Matt didn't do as well as he had hoped. He shot a 82 on a 71 par course, which isn't bad, but he has been playing much better lately. He said his nerves got to him a little which caught him off guard. Hopefully he'll be loosened up and play more like he likes tomorrow.
Sorry everyone that I haven't posted pics in a while. Sometimes time just gets away from me! I have lots to share but I'll just do a couple tonight since it is late and I promise I'll do the rest tomorrow!
Hayden spends lots of time on his bellythese days, even though most of the time he doesn't really like it there. I think he is getting really close to crawling, and when he is sitting up playing he leans way forward on his hands and bounces trying to get up on his knees. He is not quite strong enough yet so this is where he lands. And then he whines. I've been doing lots of rescuing lately.

I asked Matt for help with the laundry and this is what I got. Isn't he so cute?
Matt and Hayden have so much fun together. Hayden gets so excited when Matt comes home from work and he definitely thinks Daddy is way funnier than Mommy.
I love how you can see Hayden's foot up by Matt's ear. Hayden pulls his feet up to his face quite often when he is laying on his back. He looks like a little monkey sometimes!
I am glad Hayden is getting more attached to Matt lately. Off and on in the past, Hayden has just wanted me to hold him or feed him. But today Hayden had a hard time going down for his afternoon nap (we have no idea why) and Matt stuck his head in the door to whisper something to me and Hayden immediately stopped crying and turned to look for MAtt. Matt was already gone so I called him back and when he came to stand next to us to try to comfort him, Hayden reached out and tugged on Matt's shirt. Matt took him and Hayden was peaceful, until Matt left and then the crying continued. Oh well. I am just glad Matt can now see that Hayden loves him just as much as he loves me!
